"A" Post Off Road Lights

Does anyone have Off road lights mounted on an XJ? I have seen them before but never a good enough pic to tell how it was done. I was thinking of just making an "L" bracket with the bottom peice to match the angle of the post. Does anyone want to share a better idea?

Cheapies don't come with a relay. You'll want to use one to wire your lights up.

the appropriate relays are usually located right next to where you got the cheapy lights.

Never seen brackets to mount them to the A-pillar, myself.

I'd say you are going to need to fab them. Would look decent to drill through and run the wires tucked inside the A-pillar behind the interior trim.

i'd think a small piece of 1/8" thick flat, with the actual mount point coming off that. I'd try to use some type of thin gasket/rubber between the plate and the body when you bolt it in place.

Thanks. It wouldnt take much to make the bracket, so I will probably do that. And teh wiring would be nice all tucked into the interior trim. When I get them done I'll post some pics to hopefully help someone else out down the road.

yeah they hate if you do not search the item first. But there is a ton of great info on there, even though it might take a while to find. Good luck

I just saw one the other day with A pillar lights from the factory.

Look around and see if you can find a set of the brackets that came with the police intercepter versions. They had them.

They are of course the kind of mounts that can be swiveled but thats easy to change.......

Prolly end up with the same trouble SWB rigs have when they run hinge mounted lights...too much glare off the hood to be very useable.

x2 on the bumper mount.

mine are mounted on my bike rack, ran wires up the door pillar and out between the doors with a disconnect so i can remove the rack easy, worked better then i thought, plus no glare. Great for my rally runs to caseville
