proper method of strapping a vehicle

goin up to silver lake in 2weeks and i jsut bought me a trailer and im new to the hauling a jeep on a trailer..............i have 3 heavy duty ratchet straps for it as of right now and an axle strap.........how many straps should i use, and is the axle the best place to strap it down

I always use one strap per tire, around the axle. Make sure you have two straps pulling it forward, and two straps pulling it backwards so they stay tight.

i always go to the frame, i dont like to allow the vehical to bounce while on trailer. make sure you get the suspension to compress and dont skimp on tie downs..
use 2 up front and 2 out back criss cross them to the corner tie downs..

Tie to the axles, not to sprung weight. 4 straps all pulling away from each other.

If you are one of those who don't like vehicle sway on your trailer, then use a couple smaller straps to tie down the body to the axles.

i always use 4 straps compression the suspension. i also angle the straps so they pull sideways on the jeep. it works for me i dont know if it is the correct way though.
