Well im not impressed with the Mile marker winch .

Now if your talking a real HYD winch ran off a pto pump there is nothing to compare . The Ramsey HYD winch is nearly unbreakable . They have been the king of winches in the towing world for ever .

You can pull none stop until the cows come home , nothing to heat up .

The mile marker i think can be a good winch , problem iv seen is heat because its off the power stearing pump . No wheres near enough fluid volume nor is it filtered as it should be .

Mile marker set up on an older Med duty truck stearing pump i think would work well , add a small reservoir for extra volume and a HYD generic fliter then ya got somthing .

At the very least put on a cooler and run the stearing fluid through it for a Miler marker winch .

Last but not least . If you put your ride in water and it shuts down for any reason , your done with a HYD where as the electric will pull you back above water to get things restarted .:gman:

I think bottom line is if you're stalled for any reason the hydraulic is as dead as your engine.

Course you probably wont get far when stalled with no charging and only one battery either.

Ive got a junk ramsey 8k cause it was cheap like me
