what do you guys think of the M 880 ?

I have the opportuity to purchase an old M 880 pick up. it was a national gaurd rig from the late 70's and its got a solid chassie. its rated at 1 1/4 tons. does anyone know more about them and are the axles worth using in a rig?

Does it have discs? The 76 I just looked at from Google did. What year is it exactly? The one I lookd at was D44/D60 with 4.10's.

this one is a 60/80 with front discs. the body is shot so bad it has a chevy bed on it. my buddy has it and is bying a new truck to hang his snowplow on. I was wondering if the axles would be worth having.

well it sounds like I am going to get it. I was talking with the owner today and he thinks its got 4:11s or 4:56 gears in it. so I hope its got the 4:56s. I was thinking about pushing the body off and just mounting a jeep body on the chassie. then just shorten accordingly.

Hmm, I wish I had bought one of those at the Haslett auction about 5 years ago... they had 13 of them that all went under $1000...

The chevys of the era had 4.56s, I'd bet those do too...
