87 Dodge axles Changing pinion angle on frnt ?

it's a dana 44 and i desparatly need to point the pinion up towards the case more.. like 2" of droop and i get bad binding... So whats the EASIEST way to gain this angle without spending all day grinding away at the cast in Spring perch ??
maybe this belongs in axle tech but they're dodge axles so who knows

Your are going to have to rotate the knuckles(should be professionally done)... if you just grind your perches and do it that way you are going to screw up your caster/camber and most likely not be able to drive it down the road.

Yeah what he said. They showed how to do it on extreme 4x4 a couple months ago and it looks like a pain in the A$$! What about a T-case drop or something like that?

No road time for this rig so im not woried about the caster i joinked the caster all up on the old axles and it drove fine at the mounds (which is the only place this thin will ever see maybe dunes)
I just wana know if there's an easier way to aim the pig up before i crazy with a grinder..

It's not an axle wrap issue.. The problem is once my frnt suspension droops about 2" from RH the u joint binds.. so i need to aim the pig up more and get rid of this issue..

If you buy GOOD shims, they will work.

This is about the best pic i could come up with.. On the pass side is the problem area.. the drivers i can just grind off and weld a new perch on..

if you dont want to do that buy some good shims or make some that will give you the right angle and use good U-bolts and tighten the things down real good. about the easiest solution I can think of.

i would say longer front shackles would probably be the best for you. you could use shims and it would help as well. although if you use shims it will cause those inside bolts on the diff to be on an angle and might be hard to line up with the holes on the diff. if you could take side view pic it would help more.

but yeah i believe that a shackle lift would be the way to go if you dont want to do much work. im guessing you need to point your pinion angle up more right? if you can unbolt the leafs at the shackles and lower it down and see what you come up with as for drive shaft angle.

Yes that's my "drag link" for now.. until i get a hi steer arm its what keeps it movin around (once the engine's back in) i was brave and took it to a trip to the mounds like this and it held ! But no fear it will be replaced soon ..
I think once i get som metal i will make te shackles a little longer .. but i like your idea of un bolting it and playing with the angles to see what it does.. i'll give it a shot. thanks Jay
