5.3 Silverados

What kind of axles came with newer, I think around a 97, 5.3 liter Silverado's? I will be purchasing the drivetrain soon from one and want to go to fullsize axles and wonder if they will fit the bill.

Well it is a 5.3, and everything that backs it, I am buying the complete driveline, what kind of tranny and t case came with those motors? Will I have any binding issues with a 6 inch lift with the t case?

Also, one more wickedly bad newb question, what fullsize axles should I start looking for? I want something bigger than a dana 44.

Danas don't come in half ton Chevy body style you're talking about, as far as I know. Majority of their axles are supplied by American Axle.

Oh...sorry I misread your post. But the axles that come in those are American Axle, nothing you'd want for building a huge rig. How big is your Jeep anyways?

Why don't you try finding a Dodge half ton as a donor vehicle? 94-2001 have Dana 44 front and a Corporate 9.25 rear axle. Older Dodges may have had those axles too, I'm just not 100% positive.

If I am remembering right newer gms rear axle width is quite a bit wider than pre 87 width. Just a thought while your looking for axles.
