well does anybody know anything on these things?? are they any good? went and looked at one today for a lightweight trail truck. its a 4 popper w/auto trans. no rust! nice clean truck for 1200 should I get it I got today and look at it.

Probably better off going to a Mistubishi site for tech info on those. The one thing that jumps out at me is the full steel non-removeable hardtop (if they still make them that way). I would think they would be top-heavy and maybe that's why you don't see anyone wheeling them.

I bet the Zook crowd can probably give you some general suggestions as to how to go about building something like that. Wider axles would certainly help the tippy nature. Might want to ask about this on Misfits - more Zook owners and Tracker hackers over there.

My old boss had one that lasted a very long time 200k+. If I am not mistaking the engine in those is the same as the D-50's that Dodge made. I agree with PP tho. Seems the Suk crowd might have better knowledge of them.

Edit: Just realized the Raider was Dodge, the Mitsubishi was a Montero. Boss had a Montero, not that that makes a diff.

Yep, it's all Mitsu, just rebadged.

My brother had one back in 1990. I personally haven't seen one on the road in about 2 years.

His was a 4-popper. typical japanese build. Durable, not a ton of power. I remember it had an inclinometer built into the dash. Since I was only 16 at the time, I really don't remember much about it.

My dad used to have one a few years ago. I think most of the drivetrain is the same as a dodge d50. He never wheeled it hard but we did take it on the occasional two track. Ours had an inclometer as well.
