OMG I got an email from Jennifer M. Granholm!!!
I've gotten two of these now, one from her and one from someone else. I'm getting about 30 emails a day now and I can honestly say that I'm not planning on voting for her come election time. I just wish I wasn't getting spam from the govenor, especially since during her term my schooling has gone up 20%

Fuck you, Jennifer M. Granholm, fuck you
Dear Friend:
So often when I hear from friends, relatives and supporters they ask
me, "Why do you want to lead Michigan as its'
Governor?" The answer for me is an easy one: Michigan needs help
and I have a plan to move us forward.
When I was first elected, my predecessor John Engler had left this
state without a plan to succeed in a changing world. In the past four
years, President Bush has turned his back on Michigan and refused to
fight for fair trade policies that would support our working families.
I have spent my term in office fighting for Michigan families. I know
what we need to do, and I have a plan that will make a difference for
Michigan's economy. And, despite challenges in the legislature,
I have been able to make some real progress. Now, I need your help to
keep us moving forward for four more years. I hope that you will click
on one of these links and contribute $25, $50, $100 or even more to my
campaign:

I have traveled around the country and world bringing jobs back to
Michigan, and I will continue to go anywhere and do anything to bring
good paying jobs to this state. My investment missions to Germany and
Japan won commitments from businesses to create hundreds of jobs and
invest more than $140 million in this state. I will travel all over
the globe, in America and abroad, in order to sell Michigan as the
place to create jobs.
My Jobs Today, Jobs Tomorrow economic plan has created thousands jobs
since its inception and will create tens of thousands more. This $3
billion initiative not only creates good paying jobs, it also helps to
diversify our economy.
The MI Opportunity Partnership, which trains unemployed people and
puts them into existing jobs, has helped 34,000 Michigan citizens get
back to work. The 21st Century Jobs Fund is attracting job-creating
businesses to Michigan.
While we have been able to make progress despite the leadership in the
state legislature, I know that there are many issues that still need
to be addressed. I want to remain Governor to make sure Michigan keeps
moving forward. I am hoping that you will join me in my ongoing fight
for a brighter, better, more secure Michigan.

Following my plan, Michigan is getting back on the right path. And I
know that we can keep doing better. But things under the Republicans
could get much worse because we know they fought for and presided over
policies that have caused so many of our problems, like unfair foreign
trade agreements, outsourcing, and a lack of investment in the
education, health, and safety of our citizens.
I want the best for our children, and I want to keep them home in
Michigan -- in our land and our lakes, our schools and our streets,
leading and working for Michigan businesses. But if we don't raise the
bar, we won't jump any higher. That is why I pushed the legislature to
raise the minimum standards for high school graduation. If we
don't teach our children to expect more from themselves we are
not giving them the tools they need to compete for jobs in this global
economy.
Can you imagine the possibility of a Michigan where our children
attend the best schools in the country? I see a Michigan where every
child who graduates high school is guaranteed a $4000 Merit Award
Scholarship to obtain a college degree or technical training. I am
fighting to make sure that Michigan leads the nation in our commitment
to our children and their success in life.
We need to continue the policies my administration has initiated.
However, that will not happen if my campaign does not have the
resources it needs to win this election:

As you have no doubt noticed, my opponent is already on television. I
do not have billions of dollars in a family fortune that I can turn to
in order to fund my campaign. What I do have is you. It is my hope
that you will continue to do what you have done so often in the past:
reach into your own pocket and help.
We need to continue to ensure that the phenomenal beauty and resources
of our peninsulas is protected and appreciated not sold off to be
drilled through, dumped on, and diverted away from our state. Our
lakes should be filled with healthy fish, not poisonous mercury. That
is why I recently insisted mercury levels in our lakes be lowered to
safe standards.
One of our greatest resources is our diversity. The face of our state
is black and white, Jewish and Christian, Muslim and Arab, and yes,
Republican, Democrat and Independent. I have been working in Lansing
to solve problems, not fight over them. I believe that good government
can still triumph over ridiculous partisan bickering. I hope that you
will stand with me:

This is the Michigan that I see, and I have a plan to get us there. I
work my plan every single day and I want to see it through -- for you,
for our kids, and for the future of our great state.
But I need your help to stay in office. Contributions to my campaign
may be made via check or a credit or debit card. Please take a moment
to make a $50, $100, or $250 by clicking here right now. You and I
both know that DeVos has the wrong priorities for Michigan. Stay with
me and together we can continue on the path that will make things
better.

I appreciate your support, your enthusiasm and your vote in November.
I won't let you down.
Sincerely,
Jennifer M. Granholm
