hacking off a spindle and putting a new one on?

Is there a special proceedure for hacking off a spindle and putting a new one on? I have those rims with the 6 or 8 thingy's around the tire that hold it on....like a semi tire and want to convert to regular 5 bolt stuff. TSC has everything I need to do it, spindle, brakes, drums, hubs and bearings....just not sure about removing the old spindle and putting a new one on.

Arew you sure it doesnt just press out ? I think the TSC spindles are a press in type.. but your trailer may be different..

If you are going to buy all the stuff to convert. They sell complete axles for $250 at TSC. Yes the spindles are press and weld. But if they are not straight when done. You will wear tires out in no time at all. I had a cracked spindle on mine. Cut and rewelded it up. It works fine, but I have towed a couple hundred miles and I already need a tire. My next step is a new axle.
